In an effort to help make some of my blog’s content a bit more like a web-site, I’ve created this page to serve as a central link to all of my posts about building a fleet of 16 ore cars. The prototype cars were built by Hawker-Siddeley. They featured welded carbody construction and incorporated a manually operated drop-bottom design. The resin models of these cars were created by Sylvan Scale Models for the WRMRC.
Eighteen posts (so far) describe the steps taken to get all sixteen cars to the point that they have one coat of paint. The cars are now stored on the layout, at the scene of the Crean Hill mine where they will eventually operate. More paint, trucks and couplers, decals, and weathering have yet to be completed, so there will be at least three or four more posts. I’m taking a short break from this project to get back to some other projects that have languished.
Hover over the name of each link to get the title of the actual post. The post will open in a new window.
